X Session Changes

Due to the nature of X Session, many students' schedules need to change; in many cases, this means having Mathematics during a different period of the day. In order to reflect this, I have created four new Google Classroom classes to use during this May's X Session. Beginning Wednesday, May 6th, the original classrooms will no longer be used for requesting help or submitting work, and we will switch over to the new X Session classrooms.

My hope is that I have already correctly added everyone to the appropriate X Session Mathematics class. Just for reference, and in case I have made a mistake, these are the class codes for each period:

If you have not been added to the correct class, take action!

Joining The Class

A Google Classroom has been set up for each of my Math classes. The class codes for each period are as follows:

Open the Classroom app from your Google Account, click on the plus sign in the upper-right-hand corner and choose "Join Class". Enter the appropriate class code from the list above to join the class for the appropriate period.

Once you have joined the appropriate class, please email me at dan@camelotacademy.org telling me who you are so that I may associate your actual identity with your Google Account name.

I will then send you a Google Hangouts request so that we can video chat when you need help. Please accept the Hangouts request.

The First Day (NEW!)

The Powers That Be require us to meet as a class at our regularly-scheduled time on the first day. You Google Class will have a question posted with a link to this videoconference (it's a Google Hangouts Meet). Please join it at the appropriate time on Monday, March 16th (regardless of whether you need assistance).

Daily Procedures

Each day there will be a homework assignment to send me a picture of the Mathematics work you did that day. You should be able to turn in the image file directly through the Google Classroom interface by attaching it to your homework. This is the way I take attendance and the way I can justify to your parents that you were doing a reasonable amount of work in the case that you end up behind. If you are super-duper ahead of pace, please still turn in something, even if it's just a sentence saying, "Uh, I completed my year's worth of Math back in December, so I just played Doom Eternal all day." This'll be fine as long as the antecedent is true.

If you need help submitting your work, here are some instructions, in addition to suggestions for making good digital captures of your work.

Getting Help

Each day I will make a post on the appropriate class page saying something along the lines of, "Comment on this post if you want help today." If you'd like help, go ahead and comment. During the hour of the day we normally have class, I will video chat with each person who has left a comment. Once we have concluded working together, if you'd like help again before the hour of class is up, please go ahead and comment again, and I will get to you if time allows.

Please wait for me to video call you. If you call me, then my computer will starting ringing while I am trying to help someone else, which will just annoy everyone involved. Please also refrain from sending me hangouts messages or chat requests outside of normal class time. Obviously.

Here you can find class-specific resources and also some class-specific pages. If Mr. Dan says, "I'll put this up on the class website", it'll be found here.
